Mix together shortening, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, and egg. In another bowl sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix the two bowls together gradually.
Chill dough, roll into balls the size of large walnuts. Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour or sugar -- crisscross.
Bake until set but not hard in 350 degrees oven for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 3 doz. 2 1/2 inch cookies. |
