| Ingredients: | |
| 2 cups split peas 4-5 cups water or vegetable stock 2-3 carrots 2-3 stalks celery 1 large onion 1/2 tsp. pepper salt to taste (optional) | |
| Instructions: | |
| Wash peas. Chop carrots, onion, and celery. Bring all ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer one hour. | |
