Place chops, onion, carrot, and spices in saucepan with shortening and enough water to cover the meat. Simmer until tender, drain, season with salt and pepper. Dip chops in egg, roll in flour, fry in hot fat until brown. Serve with cooked macaroni and onion sauce.
Make onion sauce by blending 1 tbsp. butter with 1 tbsp. flour, then adding 1 cup of liquid in which chops were cooked. Bring to boiling point, add 1/2 cup cream and 2 cups sliced cooked onions. |
