Iowa Spareribs

451Pork
Other: Beef

Ingredients:
2 lbs. spareribs (beef or pork)
3 slices bacon
1/2 half onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
Worcestershire sauce to taste
salt and pepper

Instructions:
Brown together in fry pan bacon, cut in small pieces and onion. Drain off excess fat. Add catsup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Let simmer on low heat, stir occasionally. This is enough sauce for 2 lbs. spareribs.

Salt and pepper the spare ribs. Put in 375 degrees oven in large roaster with lid. Add a little water (1/2 cup). Bake about 2 hours. Drain. pour sauce over ribs.

Bake 20 minutes with lid on then remove cover and bake another 10 minutes.

Comments: I've made spare ribs every which way for years and these are actually the BEST ever. Hope you'll try them.
