Veal Stew With Sour Cream

Ingredients:
2 lbs. veal, cut in pieces
Flour, salt and pepper
3 tbsp. shortening
4 carrots, quartered
2 onions, cubed
1 bay leaf
3 peppercorns
Sour cream
Paprika
 
Instructions:

Roll veal in seasoned flour, brown in hot shortening in a Dutch oven or deep heavy fry pan, add small amount of water, cover, cook slowly 1/2 hour. Add carrots, onions, bay leaf, and peppercorns and cook another 1/2 hour. Add sour cream to cover meat (about 1 cup). Cook until meat is tender and all trace of sourness is gone, about 1 hour. When serving, sprinkle with paprika.
