Spareribs and Sauerkraut

  Yield/Servings: 6 servings  
 
Ingredients:
2 tbs. fat
2 lbs. spareribs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 quart sauerkraut
 
Instructions:

Cut spareribs into pieces to permit lying flat in dutch oven. Brown well on both sides. Add seasoning. Cover, reduce heat, and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours. Put kraut in dutch oven, lifting meat to place on top of kraut. Cover and cook 30 minutes longer.
