Fried Smelts

  Yield/Servings: 6 servings  
 
Ingredients:
smelts
egg
bread crumbs
tartar sauce
 
Instructions:

Clean smelts, remove head and tails. Dip in beaten egg, roll in very fine bread crumbs. Fry in deep shortening, 360 degrees, for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain, arrange on hot platter and serve with tartar sauce.
