Shrimp Jambalaya

Ingredients:
1 pound shrimp, cleaned and deveined
3 tbs. butter
1 large onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 (29 oz.) can whole tomatoes
12 cup raw rice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
dash black pepper
1 cup water
 
Instructions:

Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and pepper until onion is transparent. Add tomatoes, rice, seasonings and water. Cook 10 minutes over medium heat. Cut shrimp in half lengthwise; add to skillet; mix well. Cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed -- about 20 minutes.
