Bittersweet Brownies

  Yield/Servings: 24 squares  
1 1/2 cups pecans
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 squares un-sweetened chocolate, melted

Heat oven to 350 degree. Grease a 9 inch square pan. Chop pecans, empty onto waxed paper. Sift flour, baking powder and salt onto waxed paper and set aside. Put eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla into blender and blend until smooth. Add melted chocolate, continue to blend until smooth. Add flour mixture gradually. Add nuts, mixing into batter with a rubber spatula. Spread into prepared pan and bake 20-30 minutes. Cool and frost with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting (see Desserts). Cut into bars or squares.
