Double Fudge Brownies

  Yield/Servings: 4 doz.  
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter
1/4 cup water
2 cups chocolate morsels
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 325 degree. In small saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water; bring just to boil. Remove from heat. Add chocolate and vanilla; stir until chocolate melts. Transfer to large bowl. Beat in eggs. one at a time. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to chocolate batter. Blend in 1 cup chopped nuts. Spread in 13 x 9 x 2 inch greased baking pan. Bake at 375 degree for 50 minutes. Cool; cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Makes 4 dozen.
