Streusel Coffee Cake

1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbs. flour, sifted
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbs. melted butter ( not margarine)
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Sift together the batter ingredients. Cut in 1/4 cup butter with the sifted dry ingredients. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Blend into batter. Pour half batter in greased 6 x 10 inch pan.

Combine streusel ingredients together. Sprinkle half of the streusel over batter in pan. Add remaining batter and top with remaining streusel.
Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Do NOT substitute anything for the butter in the topping. Serves six.
