Amish Moca Dream Cake

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups sifted flour
3/4 cup butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
5 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/8 cup chopped almonds
 
Instructions:

Mix 1 3/4 cups flour, butter and brown sugar. Press mixture into ungreased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degree for 5 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, beat eggs in mixing bowl until foamy. Add sugar and beat again. Add 3/4 cup sifted flour, baking powder, salt and almonds. Spread over baked mixture. Bake at 325 degree for 30 minutes. Frost and cut into squares.

Frosting:

3/4 cup packed brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
2 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla

Combine brown sugar, water and in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cook 5 to 7 minutes, stirring constantly. Take from heat and stir in butter. Then gradually stir in confectioner's sugar, beating until smooth. Add vanilla and spread on cake.
