Strawberry Fritters

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, slightly beaten
2/3 cup milk
2 cups strawberries, halved

Instructions:
Make a batter of all but berries. Fold in berries, drop by spoonful into hot, deep fat, 390 degrees, and brown, turning once.

Drain, sprinkle with sugar. Serve hot, with sauce if desired.
