Oatmeal Nut Bread

  Yield/Servings: 1 loaf  
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup pitted dates
1 cup nuts

Heat oven to 350 degree. Line a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan with waxed paper, grease again. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda into mixing bowl. Add oatmeal. Put egg, sugar, sour cream and molasses into blender and mix until smooth and well blended. Push chop and add dates and nuts and continue to process until dates are chopped. Empty into dry ingredients and stir well. Fill prepared pan and bake at 45 to 55 minutes.
