Gingerbread

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
12/ tsp. cloves
1/2 cup melted shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup molasses
1 cup hot water
1 cup raisins
 
Instructions:

Put in a bowl and mix flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Add and mix with flour mixture shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and hot water. Then add the raisins.

Pour into greased 9 1/2 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degree for 40-45 minutes. Lemon or orange flavored frosting is delicious on this cake.
