Tea Biscuits

2 cups sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup seedless raisins

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl, add egg and milk and stir to make a soft dough. Mix in raisins. Roll, cut with biscuit cutter, bake in a hot oven, 450 degrees, 12-15 minutes, depending upon thickness.
