Ingredients: |
1 tbs. flour 5 tbs. sugar 5 tsp. cocoa 5 egg yolks | Sauce: 1 cup sugar 1 square chocolate 1/8 tsp. salt 2 tbs. flour 1 tsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups boiling water powdered sugar 1/2 pint of cream |

Instructions: |
Beat egg yolks 5 minutes. Add flour and sugar. Beat 5 minutes more. Add cocoa. Beat 5 egg whites very stiff; add to the above mixture. Put in pan lined with wax paper. Bake 15 or 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Sauce: Mix sugar, flour and salt; add boiling water and chocolate. Boil 4 minutes -- stirring constantly. Add butter and flavoring. (I shave the chocolate into small pieces) When chocolate roll is done, invert pan on wax paper covered with powdered sugar. Cool. Roll up until ready to serve. Then whip 1/2 pint of cream. Spread on roll. Roll up as a jelly roll. Serve with sauce-slightly warm. YUMMY! |
