Easy Recipes for Kids

There are several recipes within the category for Kids in our database. Of course many of our recipes are easy to cook for beginners and children. Use our Cooking Search and search for "Kids".

Fun & Play Recipes

Finger Paints

1 cup linit starch
4 cups boiling water (adjust amount of water to get desired consistency)
1/2 cup soap flakes (like Ivory)

Mix starch with enough cold water to make a smooth paste.
Add boiling water and cook until mixture is glossy.

Bubbles

4 ounces glycerine
9 ounces dish washing soap
2 Tablespoons sugar
Enough water to fill 2-quart container

Play Dough

1/2 cup salt
2 cups hot water
3 tablespoon alum (this keeps it soft)
food coloring (to make your favorite color)
1 3/4 - 2 1/4 cups flour

Site salt and hot water together. Add Alum, food coloring, and enough flour to make a good consistency. Knead and play :) Store in plastic bags.

Play Dough 2

2 cups flour
water to mix
food coloring if desired
1/2 cup salt
1 1/2 tablespoons oil

Mix in approximately 1 1/2 cups water slowly.
Do not store in metal container.
