3 egg whites 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup light corn syrup 3 tbs. water 1/4 tsp. cream tartar 1 tsp. vanilla
Blend egg whites, sugar, corn syrup, water, and cream of tartar in top of double boiler. Beat rapidly with rotary beater over boiling water until mixture stands in stiff peaks. Remove from heat; beat in vanilla. Enough to fill and frost two 8 or 9 inch layers.
