Dixie Pork Chops |

Ingredients: |
6 pork chops 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 3 tart apples, cored 3 tbsp. brown sugar | 3 tbsp. flour 2 cups hot water 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 cup prunes, soaked and pitted |

Instructions: |
Sprinkle chops with salt and dry mustard, brown on both sides in hot skillet in shortening. Arrange in greased baking dish. Slice apples in 1/3 inch rings; place on chops and sprinkle with brown sugar. Add flour to fat in skillet, cook until brown, stirring constantly, add water, stir until mixture boils, then add vinegar and chopped, soaked prunes. Pour over chops, bake in hot oven, 400 degrees, about 40 minutes. |
